How does certified mail work?
InsurifyAI partners with Lob to send your demand letters and other claim correspondence via USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested.
How it works
- Generate your letter — Use the AI letter generator to create a demand letter, appeal, or other correspondence.
- Review & approve — Review the letter content and make any edits.
- Send via certified mail — Click "Send Certified Mail" and enter the recipient's address. We print, fold, stuff, and mail the letter for you.
- Track delivery — Monitor real-time USPS tracking from your dashboard. You'll receive notifications when the letter is in transit, out for delivery, and delivered.
- Proof of delivery — Once delivered, you'll receive a digital copy of the signed return receipt (green card) as proof that the insurance company received your letter.
Why certified mail matters
- Legal proof of delivery — Certified mail with return receipt provides irrefutable evidence that the insurer received your correspondence.
- Starts the clock — Many state regulations require insurers to respond within a specific timeframe (often 15–30 business days) after receiving a demand. Certified mail establishes the exact receipt date.
- Bad faith evidence — If the insurer ignores your demand letter, the certified mail receipt becomes powerful evidence of bad faith handling.
Pricing
- Standard certified mail: $14.99 per letter
- With green card (return receipt): included
- Claims Action Package bundle: $79.99 (includes certified mail + vehicle report + notarization — save over $20)
